Hello everyone, I hope you all had an amazing summer!!! I know I did but still I am extremely glad to be back. One of the best things this summer happened at the very very end. We held our annual Summer Tech Academy. This year's Summer Tech Academy featured many many Google related workshops. As you know, last year our division decided to "Go Google!" Today I have stumbled across a tool that works with Google Sheets called Flippity. Flippity turns simple spreadsheets into classroom tools. For example, here is a random name picker did using Google Sheets. All I have to do now is click on the arrows to the left and a new name would show. Of course, I have a name picker that is designed for use in the computer lab. Instead of Computer 7 yours would say Jane, John, or Jeremy-whatever the students' names are in your class. Here is the link to the directions. If you want help setting this up, please let me know.

Melanie LewisHi, my name is Melanie Lewis. I am an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher for Amherst County Public Schools, located in the beautiful state of Virginia. I LOVE my job! I get to work on my hobby, anything that has to do with computers. I get to work with teachers and students, and I am definitely a people person. Plus, I DO NOT have to give grades. Wonderful, huh? Let me know how I can help you better integrate technology into your classroom. Archives
