This is one of the coolest sites I have stumbled upon in years! It's called bugscope. The bugscope project provides free interactive access to a scanning electron micoroscope so students can explore the microscopic world of insects. Students are actually interecting with real scientists. To become a part of the project, teachers must first create an account. Then have your students collect bugs and mail them to the site. Schedule a date for your students to participate with the scientists via chat. The scientists will directly answer the students' questions. Skip on over to the site and check out the archives. Some of the student comments will have you rolling on the floor! In honor of bugscope, I have to share a song that was one of my daughter's favorites when she was little. It's called I Hate Bugs!

Melanie LewisHi, my name is Melanie Lewis. I am an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher for Amherst County Public Schools, located in the beautiful state of Virginia. I LOVE my job! I get to work on my hobby, anything that has to do with computers. I get to work with teachers and students, and I am definitely a people person. Plus, I DO NOT have to give grades. Wonderful, huh? Let me know how I can help you better integrate technology into your classroom. Archives
