This is my first post of the new year! Today in computer lab I had a group of first grade students log onto Storybird for the first time. A template had been created and students were to write a sentence about winter. Some of the students needed more help than others. Those students either dictated their sentences or I went back and edited them. Other students didn't need as much help. Unless I thought the general public would not be able to make out the phonemic spellings, I left the sentences alone. Hope you enjoy our writing. It was a learning experience!

Melanie LewisHi, my name is Melanie Lewis. I am an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher for Amherst County Public Schools, located in the beautiful state of Virginia. I LOVE my job! I get to work on my hobby, anything that has to do with computers. I get to work with teachers and students, and I am definitely a people person. Plus, I DO NOT have to give grades. Wonderful, huh? Let me know how I can help you better integrate technology into your classroom. Archives
