I hate to admit this as a former Preschool teacher but the grade level with which I struggle the most is Kindergarten. I can't stand having my name called over and over again until they get the attention they want. Or worse yet is when they get out of their seat, following you around the room and pat on you until you feel you are going to pull your hair out. Fortunately, the program that comes to my rescue is Kid Pix. I LOVE THIS PROGRAM! Today we saw a short video on Thanksgiving which I downloaded from Discovery Education and then we used Kid Pix to make pictures of our own families at Thanksgiving. In the picture here a student has drawn herself eatting turkey. Mmmmmm, I love turkey too! I am going to have to research more on things to do with Kinders. There attention span is short and I don't know how long Kid Pix will continue to hold their attention.
Hi, my name is Melanie Lewis. I am an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher for Amherst County Public Schools, located in the beautiful state of Virginia. I LOVE my job! I get to work on my hobby, anything that has to do with computers. I get to work with teachers and students, and I am definitely a people person. Plus, I DO NOT have to give grades. Wonderful, huh? Let me know how I can help you better integrate technology into your classroom.
